The latest rumblings from the underground are about the next version of ASP.NET which is being called ASP.NET 2.0 (code-named Whidbey).
From what I can tell it’s very early so don’t expect it anytime soon. From what I hear, this is the version that is going to ship with the next version of Visual Studio (aka. sometime next year). “
